Levelized Billing Plan

Guard Yourself Against Drastic Changes in Your Bill

On the “Levelized Billing Plan” the monthly bill is calculated by a rolling average of your electric usage for the most recent 12 months. For instance, this month’s bill would be the average electric usage of the previous 11 months, plus this month. The only true-up is when the account is removed from levelized or if the service is terminated.

The levelized amount will change slightly from month to month, and the 12-month average guards against drastic changes in your bill, even during the coldest and hottest months.

The levelized amount will include the electric, water, sewer and outside light amounts only. Any other charges, such as TVA loans and miscellaneous service charges, will be billed in the usual manner.

The meter(s) will be read each month and the customer’s bill will continue to show the actual usage and charges for each of their services. The levelized amount will also be shown.

Levelized Billing Plan can be established once you have twelve (12) months of service at the same location and your account must be current (no past due amounts).

If levelized bill payments are not made promptly the account is subject to the normal collection procedures of CUB. This may also result in the removal of the account from the Levelized Billing Plan at which time your next regular bill will be a settlement bill and will include all unpaid and current charges.

You may cancel your Levelized Billing Plan at any time, at which time your next regular bill will be a settlement bill and will include all unpaid and current charges.
